Raia




Raia, around 2 km from Margao, is a small town in South Goa District. Ambora is 3 km north and Rachol is 4 km east.

Our Lady of The Snows Church in Raia is one of the important churches in Goa. Ambora Fountain, a spring with medicinal properties, is the prime attraction. The Shree Kamakshi Temple was originally situated here. The temple was shifted to Siroda in Ponda taluk due to religious persecution. Arlem Brewery in Raia is another premier landmark.

Rachol Seminary and Church, Museum of Christian Art, Galleria de Icons and Jorge Barreto Park are in the neighborhood. Shree Kamakshi Temple is the nearest prominent shrine.

Goa Airport is about 16 km away and Madgaon Railway Station is the nearest railway station.
