Rabindra Sarovar

Also known as Dhakuria Lake



Rabindra Sarovar is an artificial lake near Southern Avenue at Ballygunge in south Kolkata. Occupying an area of 76 hectors, it is a perfect place for organizing picnics. The lake is surrounded by a garden and walking alleys. There is a tiny island at the southern end of the lake, which is linked with the mainland via a wooden bridge. Rowing Club, Swimming Club, Japanese Buddhist Temple, Rabindra Sarobar Stadium and Children's park are nearby. Ramakrishna Mission at Golpark is only five minutes’ walk from here. Rabindra Sarovar is about 7 km from Esplanade Bus Station.
