Pykara Lake, a huge lake situated near the Pykara Dam, is 19 km from
Ooty in the
Nilgiris District of
Tamil Nadu. The lake is a haven for birds like cormorants and darters. The green water is very clean and paddle boats can be hired for boating. Water level will be higher in March-April.
