Pushpavana Nathar-Poonturutti Nathar Temple




Pushpavana Nathar-Poonturutti Nathar Temple is a Shivasthalam at Tirupanthuruthi near Tiruvaiyaru in Thanjavur District. The temple, situated in an area of 2.5 acre, has a huge rajagopuram of 100 feet. There is a separate shrine for Uruvudaiyambikai facing the east. The image of Veena Dhara Dakshinamurthy is a speciality here. The temple teertham is Kasyapa Teertham. Saint Appar is said to have composed his pathigam Angamaalai at this place. The Saptastanam festival in the month of Chithirai (mid April - mid May) is celebrated in a grand manner.
