Purulia District Museum is situated within the premises of Haripada Sahitya Mandir in
Purulia. It houses old Jain and Hindu sculptures and architectural remains from Purulia and adjacent areas. The museum also has a good collection of manuscripts, ornaments, weapons and musical instruments of tribes.
Purulia is a major agricultural distribution center located to the north of the Kasai River in West Bengal.
