Punnayur

Punnayur is a small village situated along National Highway 17, about 8 km north of Chavakkad, in Thrissur District. Thrissur, the district headquarters, is around 40 km south-east of Punnayur.

Chavakkad Beach, Palayur Church and the famous Guruvayoorappan Temple and Punnathur Kotta Elephant Sanctuary at Guruvayoor are places worth visiting in the neighborhood.

Nearest airport is at Kochi. Guruvayoor Railway Station serves Punnayur.
