Punjaipugalur (also spelt as two words: Punjai Pugalur) is a small settlement situated on the banks of Cauvery, in Karur District , Tamil Nadu. It lies near Pugalur, which is famous for Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Ltd (TNPL.) Punjai Thottakkurichi is situated in the east, Chennasamudram in the west and Velur in the north. Nearby tourist spots include Sri Kalyanapasupatheeswarar Temple, Rock Fort at Namakkal, Pasupatheeswarar Temple and Government Museum at Karur, Maha Lakshmi Amman Temple at Krishanarayapuram and Kalyana Venkattaramasami Temple at Thanthoni.
