Pundarikatcha Perumal Temple

Pundarikatcha Perumal Temple is an ancient shrine situated at Tiruvellarai, in Tiruchirapalli District of Tamil Nadu. It is about 25 km from Tiruchirapalli, on the way to Thuraiyur. This vast temple built on a rock features imposing walls.

Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, this highly revered divya desam has two entrances - referred to as the Uttarayana Vaayil and Dakshinayana Vaayil - as in the Sarangapani Temple at Kumbakonam. The Uttarayana Vaayil is open from the Tamil month of Thai until the month of Aadi from there onwards the Dakshinayana Vaayil is used.
