Pulla

Pulla is located in West Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh. It is around 20 km east of Eluru.

The place is closely associated with the epic Ramayana. Legend has it once when King Dasaratha was on his way for a war along with his wife Kaikeyi in a chariot, the pulla (axle pin) fell down at this place. Kaikeyi avoided the accident by keeping her finger in the place of 'pulla'. Dasaratha got pleased with the act of Kaikeyi and gave boons to her, which she used against Lord Ram.

Pulla Railway Station is on the Eluru- Badampudi line.
