Pulahru

Tsapli

Pulahru or Tsapli is an indigenous footwear made from rice straw. This footwear has been a part of the tradition of the people of Jammu and Kashmir since ancient times.

Simple and low cost grass sandals are worn by the common man, while the rich use the more sophisticated and decorated ones. Women belonging to the Hindu community wear only grass sandals, unlike their Muslim counterparts who also use the ones made from leather.
