Pudur




Pudur is a part of Ilayangudi taluk of Sivagangai District, Tamil Nadu. ‘Pudur’ literally means ‘new village’. In Tamil literature, this land falls under the category of Palai Nilam, which means desert land. The evidences can be traced out from the old buildings existing in this village. These buildings were built using lot of desert related materials.

Major point of attraction here is the Mohideen Andavar Pallivasal or Big Mosque of Pudur. It was constructed about 250 years ago. Thikka Pallivasal and Pudur Grand Mosque are other religious places located here.
