Puajiuntia is one of the fasting festivals celebrated by women in
Sambalpur District of
Orissa. It falls in the month of Aswina (October). The festival is mainly observed by mothers to appease Lord Dutibahana. During this they fast for the whole day and worship the deity for the well being and prosperity of their sons. Children give gifts to their mother during this festival.
