Prasanthi Old Age Welfare Home was founded by Mr Rathnavel Pandian, former Supreme Court judge, to look after neglected old people. It provides food, accommodation and shelter free of cost for old people regardless of caste, creed and religion. Paid homes are also available in Chinmaya Nagar,
Chennai. The physical, mental and spiritual needs of the inmates are cared well. Sumptuous food is served. The home at Maduravoyal accommodates 10 poor women.
