Pranaveswarar-Sivanandar Temple is situated at Tiruppanturai in
Thanjavur District. This
Shivasthalam is about 9 km south-east of
Kumbakonam. The temple is dedicated to
Lord Shiva referred to as Pranaveswarar. There is a separate sanctum for Goddess Malaiarasiammai. The entire complex is surrounded by massive walls. The sthala vriksham (sacred tree) is vanni and the
teertham is Mangala teertham. Aippasi Pournami, Arudra Darisanam and Navaratri are observed in a grand manner.
