Prachitgarh lies on the western-most boundary of Sangli District, which it shares with Ratnagiri District. It is situated by the banks of Varna River, to the north of Petlod.

Koyna Lake, Panhala, Jyotiba Hill, Dhudhavane Tiwari Waterfall and the pilgrim town of Sangameshwar are places of tourist interest around, within easy access from Prachitgarh.

Pune Lohegaon Airport and Sangmeshwar Railway Station serve Prachitgarh.
