Poykkalukali

Poykkalukali is a folk dance usually performed in connection with temple festivals. It is also known as marakkalattom. Poykkalukali is accompanied by theme songs and percussion instruments. The dance portrays the fight of the goddess Durga on stilts against the Asuras who attacked her in the guise of snakes and scorpions.
