Potagarh




Potagarh is a historical place situated about 3 km from Ganjam and 13 km from Chhatrapur, in Ganjam District, Orissa. It lies close to the confluence of Rushikulya River and Bay of Bengal.

Potagarh is famous for an old fort built by Britishers in the 18th century. The fort is surrounded by a moat. The remnants of the majestic fort houses and a buried tunnel specks points to its glorious past. Owing to its unique geographical location and historical past, Potagarh is a favorite location for students, scholars and historians. It is also a favorite picnic spot.
