Porthimund Dam

Porthimund Dam is constructed across the Pykara River in Nilgiris District. It is located 18 km from Parsons Valley, on the Ooty-Mysore Road. There are facilities for boating and some water sports. Nearby lie Pykara falls and the reservoir, which are worth visiting.

Ooty is well connected to other cities and towns by road and rail. The nearest airport is at Coimbatore, 105 km from Ooty.
