Poochakkad Makham Urs

Poochakkad Makham Urs is a nercha festival celebrated in memory of Syed Khazi Hasainar Thangal, who was a Muslim judge (khazi) and a well Muslim scholar. A grand feast is held on this occasion. During the festival, large numbers of people from far-off places throng here to pay rich tribute to Thangal.

This annual festival takes place at Chithari, a coastal village in Kasargod District. Chithari is about 4 km from Kanhangad and 5 km from the Bekal Fort.
