Ponnurmalia Teerth




Ponnurmalia Teerth is a Jain temple situated at the foot of the Ponnurmalai hill in Thiruvannamalai District, in Tamil Nadu. This temple is dedicated to the Jain god Bhagvan Mahavir Swami. According to legends, this was the land of penance of the reputed Jain saint Acharya Kundakund.

An Annual fair is held in this temple. People offer their prayers here before starting any important work. The location of the temple is considered appropriate for meditation. The temple is managed by Shri Acharya Kundakund Ashram.The nearest railway station is at Tindivanam nearly 40 km away.
