Set at an altitude of about 14,671 ft above sea level, Pongunagu is a small village in the southern part of
Leh District,
Jammu and Kashmir. It is about 38 km south of Gya. This hilly area has tremendous tourist potential.
Pongunagu is encircled by Takh in the west, Tirido in the north, Kiari in the east and Chutak in the south. Other places which are well connected with this village are Khurna and Mudil.
One can reach Pongunagu from Argi and Mone Leh. A road connecting Debring to Upshi also leads to this village.
