, Pong Dam holds the distinction of being the highest earthen dam so far constructed in the country. It is situated at a height of about 450 m, covering an area of about 45,000 hectares. The dam site serves as a paradise for nature lovers and bird watchers. The whole reservoir is declared as a Wildlife Sanctuary by the Himachal Pradesh
