Pishari Kovil




Pishari Kovil is an ancient temple located at Tripunithura in Ernakulam District of Kerala. The main deity worshipped is Goddess Durga. The idol is in the standing posture with a conch in upper left arm and a chakra in the top right hand. The sub-deities worshipped are Lord Vishnu, Lord Ganesh and Lord Shiva. A pudding in liquid form called the Chathussatha Nivadiyam is the main offering given to the deity.

The temple has a large fresh water pond and a big banyan tree. The main festivals celebrated here are Trikartika Thirunal (November/December) and Navratri (September/October). Shivali (elephant procession with band) and panchavadyam are part of these festivals.

Tripunithura Railway Station is the nearest railway station.
