Pilerne

Pilerne is a prominent industrial town located around 3 km off the National Highway 17, in the south-western part of Bardez taluk, in North Goa District. Betim is 2 km away and Saligao is 3 km north-west.

Pilerne Lake, a small rectangular lake, is an ideal destination for birding enthusiasts. The church of St John the Baptist is a main church in this area. The Reis Magos Fort, on the north bank of the Mandovi River at Reis Magos, is about 5 km away. Calangute Beach and Candolim Beach are accessible from here.

Accommodation facilities are available at the two century old Portuguese heritage mansion, Villa Sabina.

Goa Airport and Karmali Railway Station are the nearest airport and major railhead respectively. Pilerne is well-linked with the nearby places by road.
