Pichavaram Mangrove Forest

The extensive Pichavaram Mangrove Forest is situated 14 km from Chidambaram in Cuddalore District, Tamil Nadu. This region is a unique eco system, and the mangrove trees are planted in a few feet of water.

The Pichavaram mangroves are considered to be among the healthiest mangrove occurrence in the world. Rare species of Avicennia and Rhizophara are seen here.

Tamil Nadu Tourism Devolopment Corporation’s Aringnar Anna Tourist Complex houses cottages, and a restaurant caters to the needs of tourists.
