Phulbani




Phulbani is the administrative headquarters of Kandhamal District in Orissa. It is known for its rich tribal culture and colorful flora and fauna. Surrounded by hills, the town is an ideal place to relax in and marvel at its natural beauty. Phulbani is situated about 211 km west of Bhubaneswar.

Pillasalunki River flows on its three sides and a stroll along its banks in the afternoon provides a wonderful experience. One could catch a panoramic view of the town from the Bhetkhol and Brahamani Devi hill top.

Major points of attraction of the town are its weekly Hata, Jagannath Temple and Narayani Temple. Other places of tourist interest around Phulbani include Balaskumpa (18 km), Padmatala (37 km), Purana Khatak (40 km) and Patudi (15 km).

Berhampur Railway Station, on the Visakhapatnam-Khordha rail route, is the nearest railhead. The nearest airport is at Bhubaneswar (211 km).
