Phek




Phek, the district headquarters of Phek District in Nagaland, is 134 km east of Kohima. Phek is the hometown of 'Chakhesang' and 'Pochury' tribes. It is famous for rare tragopan birds and several varieties of beautiful orchids. This area is the habitat of the world famous Blyth's Tragopan, a pheasant of Nagaland.

The prominent attractions are Pfutsero, Kezakenoma and Shilloi Lake. The principal festival ‘Tsukhenyie’ is celebrated during March-April.

Nearest airport and railway station are at Dimapur.
