Perinkulam




A village in Palakkad District of Kerala, Perinkulam is about 3 km from Alathur on the National Highway 47.

Perinkulam literally means a large pond. It has the temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lord Krishna, Varadaraja and Goddess Lakshmi.

A major draw is a carnival named Perinkulam Ratholsavam, which lasts for ten days.

Palakkad Junction Railway Station is the nearest major railhead. Another railhead nearby is Kollengode Railway Station, which is on the Palakkad-Madurai meter gauge line. The nearest airport is Cochin International Airport.
