Penzella Glacier

Penzella Glacier forms the origin of the Suru River. It is located beside the Penzella Pass. A number of streams originate from this pass. The area provides a breathtaking view of the Zanskar range which includes the Zanskar valley and the Suru Valley. The best time to visit here is from May to September. For the rest of the year it remains closed due to heavy snowfall.

Penzella Glacier can be approached from Zanskar, which is 20 km south of Rangdum.
