Penur lies 13 km north-west of Lawha, in Nanded District. It is quite near the district’s border with Parbhani District. Penur is just 16 km from Palam, the nearest major settlement on the other side of the border. Sonkher lies 14 km east of Penur and Kandahar is around 20 km south-east.
Malegaon Yatra, held annually in Malegaon, is a major draw attended by scores of devotees. Kandahar Fort and old Idgah at Kandahar are some historic sites worth paying a visit.
