Peer Mohamed Oliyullah Dargah




Peer Mohamed Dargah is located at Thuckalay in Kanyakumari District of Tamil Nadu. The dargah has been named after the great philosopher and Tamil poet Mohamed Appa who is believed to have close relationships with the kings of the Chera Dynasty. According to local populace, Mohamed Appa, after spending sometimes in spiritual pursuits in Peermade of Kerala, came here and stayed. He is also believed to have laid foundation stone for the historic Padmanabhapuram Fort. The anniversary of Mohamed Appa, celebrated annually in the lunar month of Rajap, draws people irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
