Pazhur Perumthrikovil Temple




Pazhur Perumthrikovil Temple is situated at Pazhur, on the banks of the Muvattupuzha River, near Piravom, in Ernakulam District. The presiding deity is Lord Shiva, and a unique feature is that the idol of the deity is made of river sand. The temple also has a wooden image of one-winged Garuda. During Shivratri, a six day festival is organized here. This festival ends with the Pooram, which is accompanied by traditional temple music.
