Payilur




A village in Palakkad District, Payilur is located near Kollengode. It takes its name from 'Payyu', which literally means cow.

The village has a temple dedicated to Lord Krishna, where pujas are performed by Azhvar family. Puthari Festival, apart from Navaratri, Ashtamirohini and Shivratri, is celebrated here.
