Pawagiri

Pawagiri village is located about 20 km from Bavina in Talbehat taluk, Lalitpur District. Bounded by hills in all directions, this place is an ideal destination for tourists. Pawagiri was earlier famed as the center of ascetic saints. This spot has been mentioned in the ancient text of Nirvankand. Pawagiri houses several ancient Jain temples including Shri Bahubali Temple, Shri Parshwanath Temple and Chandraprabhu Temple. A 750 year old underground cave, supposed to have been erected by Shri Deopat Kheopat, is a major attraction. The Chelna River flows through nearby. Lord Chandraprabhu, the 8th Tirthankar, attained salvation here. By road, Talbehat is at a distance of 11 km and the nearest railway station is located there.
