Patnitop




Patnitop is a famous hill station, situated at an altitude of 2024 m, in Udhampur District of Jammu and Kashmir. It is perched on a beautiful plateau across which the Jammu -Srinagar highway passes.

The place, surrounded by thickly wooded forests, is an ideal place for the trekking enthusiast. The main trekking routes include the Kud and Sanasar (17 km). The complete tourist circuit covers up to Latti.

Sudh Mahadev Temple and Mantalai are the nearby sacred spots. Asad Purnima, a local festival, is celebrated here in the month of July in grand manner.

The best times for a visit to Patnitop are summer (May-June) and autumn (September-October). If seeking snowboard joys, December to March is the time to be here. Accommodation facilities are available in the large number of huts and tourists bungalows, all managed by JKTDC.

Buses and taxis are available from Jammu (112 km), Katra (60 km) and Udhampur. Nearest airport is at Jammu. Jammu Tawi Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
