Patla is a village located about 5 km from Kasargod. Spread over an area of 1000 acres of attractive landscape, this village is bordered by a beautiful hill in the north-east and the famous Madhuvahini River in the south-west. The main crops of this rural area include rice, pulses, cashew nut, arecanut and coconut. Malayalam and Kannada are the common languages spoken.

Kasargod has its own railway station. The nearest airport is Mangalore Bajpe Airport.
