Pataleshwar Cave Temple is an 8th century rock-cut temple located at Shivaji Nagar in Pune District
. It is in the middle of the busy street of Jangli Maharaj Road in Pune
This cave temple is dedicated to Lord Pataleshwar. Believed to have been hewn from a single rock, it has massive pillars. It is of similar architecture and design as that of the rock temples at Elephanta. A Shiva shrine and a circular Nandi mandapam are located in the front.
Close to Pataleshwar Cave Temple is the Jangali Maharaj Temple dedicated to a Hindu ascetic, who died here in 1818.
