Pasupateeswarar-Tirutturai Naathar Temple




Pasupateeswarar-Tirutturai Naathar Temple is a famous Shivasthalam located at Tirutturaiyur near Cuddalore. The temple deity is Lord Shiva known by the names Tirutturai Naathar and Pasupateeswarar. The temple has a separate worship place for Goddess Kayarkan Nayaki. The temple Teertham is Pennar and the Sthala Vriksham is Konrai. Folklore is that Naradar, Surya, Brahma, Vishnu, Ram, Sita, Bheema and Agasthyar worshipped Lord Shiva at this place. Sage Sundarar has glorified this temple through his pathigams. The main festivals of the temple are Navratri and Aippasi Pournami.
