The area population is 2,400 and the people are literate. A high school is located here. The rainy season is from July to October. Pilak and Trishna Wildlife Sanctuary are tourists interests in the region.
Belonia, Manu Bazar and Sabroom are the nearby towns. Udaipur, the district headquarters, is around 55 km north.
