Paruthiyara is a village in Kollam District of Kerala. It is famous for its cattle and village fair, conducted on the 10th of every Malayalam month. People from different parts of the district gather here in the early morning for business. The Ayyappa Temple is a popular religious place here.
Paruthiyara lies on the Oyoor – Kottarakara road, in between Veliyam and Odanavattom. It is about 8 km from Oyoor and 10 km from Kottarakara. Major temples such as Kottarakara Ganapathi Temple and Velinalloor Sree Rama Swami Temple are easily accessible from Paruthiyara.
