Papagni River is a sacred river which originates in Karnataka
. It is a tributary of the Pennar River and flows through Chittoor District
in Andhra Pradesh
. It also passes through the 200 ft Palakonda hills and enters the plains of Cuddapah District
. Veeranjaneya Swamy Temple, positioned on the right side of the Papagni River, is the main attraction. Devotees visit the temple after a holy bath from here. Apart from this, many other temples are situated on the banks of the river.
