Panniyur is a small sleepy village situated 10 km west of
Pattambi, on the banks of Perar in
Ottapalam Taluk. The village surrounded by mountains and green fields was one of the prominent Namboothiri settlements during early medieval times. The major attraction of the village is the Varahamoorthy temple. All the houses are placed within a radius of about 20 km from the Varaahamoorthy temple.
