Panekal Thermal Springs




Panekal Thermal Springs is located in Dakshin Kannada District of Karnataka and is 22 km from Uppinangady.

It originates from the crevices of rocks and forms a pond nearby. The excess water from the pond is drained into the Netravati River.

The water of these springs contains sulphides, oxides and other minerals. The pond is surrounded by trees such as artocarpus heterophyllus lam, ficus benghalensis, mangifera indica and macaranga peltata muell.

Uppinangady, on National Highway 48, is 60 km from Mangalore. Mangalore Airport is the nearest airport and Puttur railway station is the nearest railhead. Taxis and buses are available from Mangalore to Uppinangady.
