Pandavgad Fort

Pandavgad Fort is located in Satara District of Maharashtra. It is about 10 km from Wai and lies on the Wai – Maandhardev road.

Built by King Bhoj II of the Shilahar dynasty, the fort was an important line of defense in the battle between Trimbakji Dengle and the British in 1817. A sharp rock, which is six-meter high, provides a natural protection to the fort. Fortifications are found here. A dilapidated temple of Devi Pandjai is at the center of the fort. Inside the fort, there are several small and large lakes.
