Panchtarni is the confluence of five streams situated 40 km from the town of
Pahalgam in
Anantnag District. Literally it means the meeting of five streams. There is a narrow path which leads to the
Amarnath Cave. The area and its vicinity are suitable for good camping, especially for pilgrims.
The nearest airport and railway station are in Badgam District and Jammu respectively.
