Panchkuti Dal

Panchkuti Dal uses a delightful combination of five pulses. This is less spicy, fairly complicated and a wonderfully tasty dish. In this recipe, soaked dals (lentils) are cooked with mustard seeds, cumin seeds, cinnamon and cloves. The flavor of the raw spices absorbed into the lentils dominates the dish. Like other gravy dishes, it goes well with warm Indian breads.
