Panathur




Panathur, also spelt Panathoor, is a village in Kasargod District. The village lies on the border of Kerala and Karnataka. It is close to Kallar, a small town 22 km north-east of Nileshwar. Manjadukkam Thularuvana Bhagavathi Temple is a prime attraction here. A large number of devotees throng at the temple during its seven day annual festival called Manjakkudam Festival. The largest assemblage of Theyyams, on the concluding day of the festival, is a major draw. Ranipuram Hill Station is situated nearby. Tular Vanam is 4 km east of Panathur. Frequent bus services are operating from Kanhangad to Panathur. Kasargod Railway Station is the nearest major railhead.
