Pan Dyun Festival is celebrated during the Hindu month of Bhadrapad (August-September). This festival, celebrated in Jammu and Kashmir, is dedicated to Lord Ganesh.

It is believed that by worshipping Lord Ganesh on this day and offering ‘roth’ (specially prepared sweet pancakes) to him, all the miseries of a person will be removed.

Some religious rituals are performed on this day. The rituals include a narration of a folklore emphasizing the importance of Lord Ganesh. The sweet pancakes along with some other delicacies are distributed among near and dear ones.
