Pamed Sanctuary




Pamed Sanctuary is located in Dantewada District, Chhattisgarh. It lies near the district's border with Andhra Pradesh. It is around 70 km south of Bijapur.

It sprawls over 260 sq km of southern moist mixed deciduous forest. Common species include monkey, jackals, porcupine, hyena, fox, fine squirrel, cobra, krait, nag, python, Pahari myna, tree pie and rollers.

January to June is ideal to visit the sanctuary. Kirandul Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
