Pambai is a percussion instrument of Kerala and it is similar to Dholak.

It is made by covering leather on either sides of a small hollow wooden log. The center of the instrument is less thick than the sides. Another name of it is ‘Urumi.’

It accompanies the Bhagavati/Mariamman processions, especially in Kasargod District, and in Karakattam performance.
